Poetry

This year, we will focus on poetry in our classroom.  Reading poetry is a wonderful way to develop and practice effective reading skills.  Poems are also a great way to enrich our children's imagination.  The sky is the limit!  Click below to view our current poem.  Please read it with children.  Act it out, sing it, or even whisper it. The Internet is an AWESOME resource for our children.  We can visit so many wonderful sights full of incredible information focusing on class topics, authors, and even math!  Please click on our links below to investigate the material within.

 Everyday Mathematics- This is a great site for information and help with our Math program.

Kidsreads- This site highlights many famous authors, and offers children an opportunity to test their knowledge of books and themes!

Enchanted Learning- Check out this awesome site!  It's full of print-outs, interactive activities, and information sheets focusing on multiple topics (Dinosaurs! Stars! Countries!).  A great way to incorporate fun learning activities on a rainy day!

Babloo- This website offers lots of folktales, science, and social studies activities for our children.
