                      Week of November 10

 

 

Mon, Nov 10             Activity: Assessment: Enrichment Students will demonstrate their earthquake

 resistant structure. Students will show evidence of their independent                   work.  

 

Objective: Students will be able to identify where Earth’s volcanic

                                    regions are found and why they are found there. (D1f) (Assessment:

                                    map comparisons, notebook, written assessment).

                                    Activity: Show the video titled “Volcanoes and Earthquakes”.

Homework: Read p. 88 – 91. In notebook write 3-1 Volcanoes and Plate Tectonics. Define the following words: volcano, magma, lava, Ring of Fire, island arc, hot spot. Answer the questions on p. 91.

 

Tue, Nov 11             No School   Veteran’s Day

 

Wed, Nov 12            Enrichment: Enrichment Students will be introduced to their independent project.

Activity: Center Class will discuss homework assignment.

                                    Activity: Prepare for lab activity on p. 92.

 

Thu, Nov 13             Science Lab: Hot Spot in a Box p. 91.

                                    Homework: Review and Reinforce  Study for quiz over 3.1

                                   

Fri, Nov 14                Activity: 1. Check Review and reinforce. 2. Quiz over 3:1.   3. Write up Lab Report on experiment. Due Monday.
