Hello and welcome to EC-3! I am Anne Hale. I graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in Elementary Education. I taught in Hillsborough County Public Schools for 11 ½ years. While teaching, I went to night school and took classes to add Early Childhood to my teaching certificate and began working towards my master’s degree in Administration and Supervision. I most recently taught EC-4 at St. Stephen for three years when the school first opened.

I was born in Rochester, New York and lived there until I was nine years old. My family then moved to Syracuse, New York, home of the Syracuse Orangemen. I attended West Genesee Senior High School and was on the Varsity Swim Team and I was also a member of the Wildcat Marching Band. Our marching band was New York Champions for ten years in a row, and while I was a member we won the National Field Band Conference here in St. Petersburg in 1984.

I attended the State University Of New York at Brockport. My major was in Criminal Justice with an almost minor in Spanish. While attending college I met my husband Brian. I graduated in 1990 with my B.S. Upon graduation I began working for the Alling & Cory Company. I began in the sample department making samples for printers and designers. After a year in the sample department I moved into the customer service department. I worked for Alling & Cory for ten years and shortly thereafter had our first daughter. I was then a homemaker for six years raising two wonderful children.

I have been married for seventeen years to Brian and I have two daughters, ages seven and four. We have lived in Florida for seven years and absolutely love it. I am currently attending Hillsborough Community College with a concentration in Early Childhood Education.

Education has been my passion since childhood. I completed my Bachelor of Science in elementary education at the University of South Florida in 2000, and have been teaching primary grades since. This December, I will be receiving my Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education. I believe children are our world’s only true precious resource. As such, children’s education is of the utmost importance.

I was born in Gastonia, North Carolina. I received my Bachelor of Science from Pfeiffer University in Elementary Education. After marrying Frederick Hoffmann, we moved to Tampa, Florida. In 1991, I began teaching preschool at St. Joseph Hospital. During my years there I served as Assistant Director, Night Director and then Center Director where we earned the NACYC accreditation.

After the birth of my third daughter in 1997, I became a stay at home mom. We moved to Riverview in 1998 and became members of St. Stephen Catholic Church. When the school opened in 2001, I came on board staff as the three-year old teacher.

Although I enjoyed immensely the youngest age group, I felt I was ready for a change and a challenge. Lead by the Holy Sprit and Ms. Jackson I took the second grade teaching position this year. I feel extremely privileged and blessed to help guide the students on their special sacramental journey.

I have four daughters who attend the school and our family now has a small farm located in Lithia. My favorite saint is Saint Francis and I enjoy working with all of God's creatures.

This is my 27th year employed in education. I graduated with a BS degree in elementary education, and a minor in science and math education, and earned a M.S. in Special Ed. from the Catholic University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne, IN. Later I earned a second masters degree in school leadership from Nova Southeastern University in Florida.

I have been married for 35 years to John, and together we raised two daughters and a son. We moved to Bloomingdale in 1982.

I have taught grades 4 and 5, middle school math, science, and religion, and have been a resource (special needs) teacher. I was a school assistant principal and a principal at two different schools in St. Petersburg Diocese. I have worked in Catholic schools in all but two years of my career . A little over two years ago, the Lord called me back to the classroom from my administration duties at St. Raphael’s. Like Samuel, at first it was difficult to hear the Lord calling me. But I have found it such a blessing to be back in the classroom in such a warm, Christ filled school doing what I love doing best… teaching middle schoolers math and science.

After growing up in a small town in Indiana, I came to Florida as a teenager.  I graduated from Bloomingdale High school.  Later I returned to Indiana to receive my BA in English and my minor in French from Indian University in Bloomington.  I have taught for 5 years and this will be my third year with St. Stephen Catholic School.  My first priority in everything is my relationship with God.  He has blessed me with a wonderful husband and two beautiful girls.  I enjoy reading, swimming and most of all scuba diving.

I served five years in the Army as an Officer. During that time, I had the opportunity to learn a great deal about people, and how to use my leadership skills successfully.

Following an extended stint as a Stay-at-Home Mom, I went back to school and earned my Masters in Organizational Management.

I love working with children and enjoy the challenge of motivating them to stay fit and healthy. I also enjoy the outdoors, which makes being a P.E. instructor and Athletic Coach an ideal position.

My husband is a U.S. Marine Officer. I have two very handsome boys – a 7 yr. old, who attends St. Stephen, and my 14 yr. old, who will be attending East Bay H.S.

I am the product of a loving faith filled family. I have lived and was educated in New Jersey, Tennessee, Delaware, and New York. Now, God has brought me here to Florida and graciously led me to St. Stephen’s church and school. I spent the last seven years earning my B.F.A. in Digital Arts and Design and my M.S. in Art Education at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University. I was an All-American collegiate softball pitcher and enjoyed 2 years as an assistant coach at C.W. Post specializing in pitching, outfield, and conditioning. My life feels incomplete without community service. For the last 6 years, I have participated and coordinated a volunteer house building project with students from C.W Post and an organization based in Tijuana, Mexico called Esperanza. Now I weld all-terrain wheelchairs with P.E.T. in Tampa. I look forward to learning from all my students. “The most wasted of all days is one without laughter” – E. E. Cummings. I love art, I love to laugh, and I love education. God bless.

I’ve had quite a varied and interesting career. In the 70’s, while living in IL, I was an orthodontist asst, bank teller, key tape operator at a publishing co., and worked in real estate. In the 80’s I supported my daughter and myself as administrative assistants in Chicago to senior v.p.’s for Kelly Insurance and Midas Intl., as well as, being the right-hand asst. to the C.E.O. of Hyatt International Hotels Corp. My business travels took me to Jamaica, Mexico, Canada and several cities throughout the U.S. In the late 80’s, my daughter entered college and I decided to drastically change careers by becoming a professional actress. I performed in a few commercials, dinner theaters, movies as an extra and traveled the Midwest with a children’s theater troupe. I met my Husband, Tom, while touring as an actress for the IL State Lottery in 1991.

In 1993, after the birth of my son, I became a stay-at-home mom, while also volunteering for Hospice.

We moved to FL in 2000, where I worked as a Kindergarten Asst. until arriving in Riverview in 2005. I have been enjoying working with the students and faculty of St. Stephen this past yr.

I was born and raised in Newark, Ohio. I have one sister and a wonderful, huge extended family. I became a Eucharistic Minister and Lector while in College and taught Religious Education for years. I graduated from the University of Maryland with a BS in Psychology. I worked in a variety of settings with handicapped children and adults.

In 1988, I married my high school sweetheart (different high school). He was in the military and we moved to eight different places around the country and world in 16 years. I have spent over 24 years in Catholic education as an educator/administrator.

I also spent over six years at Catholic Universities. I obtained my Masters of Religious Education at Loyola University in New Orleans, and my Educational Leadership Specialist from Barry University in Miami.

The threefold mission of St. Stephen Catholic School speaks directly to my own personal philosophies: Put God first by the way you live, reach your highest God-given potential, and never stop learning and growing.
